What are thread veins?

Broken capillaries are small, dilated blood vessels that become visible just beneath the surface of the skin. They most often appear on the cheeks, the sides of the nose and the legs, and can give the skin a persistent reddish tint.

Causes
Broken capillaries are caused by weakened vessel walls and can be triggered by sun, heat, alcohol, genetics and the skin's natural ageing.
On the legs, pressure and vein function also play a part, but the treatment is different here. For thread veins on the legs, we treat with injections directly into the vessel (microsclerotherapy).
